Synopsis/Plot:
The Guardians—Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot—are hired by the Sovereign race to protect valuable batteries. “Vol. 2” opens with an iconic credit sequence featuring Baby Groot dancing to ELO’s “Mr. Blue Sky.” Unlike many superhero films, this installment doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s whimsical, exciting, and family-oriented. While heartfelt speeches and apocalyptic moments slightly hinder the final act, the film remains thoroughly enjoyable.
