Synopsis/Plot:
In “A Quiet Place: Day One,” Sam (played by Lupita Nyong’o), a hospice-stage cancer patient, embarks on a trip to Manhattan with her support group. Amidst the chaos of an alien invasion, she seeks solace in a slice of New York pizza—a simple pleasure that may soon be denied to her. As the world falls apart, Sam grapples with the question of how hard to fight for life when she’s already dying. Alongside her movie-stealing cat, Frodo, and a panicking young man named Eric (Joseph Quinn), Sam navigates a city where silence is survival. However, the film’s execution falls short of its intriguing ideas.
