The Tawara family, descendants of ancient Japanese shinobi (ninja), have long abandoned their ninja roots. Instead, they lead seemingly ordinary lives in Tokyo. Haru Tawara (played by Kento Kaku) works a mundane job refilling vending machines, concealing his true skill set. Haru, like his father Souichi (Yosuke Eguchi), mother Yoko (Tae Kimura), and sister Nagi (Aju Makita), is a highly-trained ninja capable of silent stealth and deadly swordsmanship.

However, tragedy strikes when Gaku (Kengo Kora), the firstborn Tawara son and hero to Haru and Nagi, is lost during a sword battle. Souichi has turned his back on the old ways, determined to raise his oblivious eight-year-old son, Riku (Tenta Banka), as a regular citizen. But the family’s secrets resurface when Tokyo faces a new threat. Rising cult-like behavior and whispers of new poisons at crime scenes force the dysfunctional Tawara family to take up their duty once again.
