Synopsis/Plot:
Set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh politics, the film revolves around Baldev Pratap Singh (played by Sanjay Dutt), a four-time MLA from the Malihabad constituency. Baldev recently secured a stay order against businessman Bajwa Khatri (portrayed by Chunky Pandey), which has elevated his popularity, positioning him for a fifth electoral victory. Meanwhile, Majid Maqbool (Zakir Hussain), a leader in Baldev’s political party, also vies for the party ticket to contest elections from the same constituency.
In a flashback, we witness Baldev and Badshah (Jackie Shroff) confronting goons who challenge and insult Jaiprakash Kedar (M. K. Raina) during local village elections. Jaiprakash’s son, Shiv (Anup Soni), decides to enter the political race after his father withdraws due to communal politics. Tragically, Shiv is killed during a rally by his political opponent, Kishen Yadav. Baldev and Badshah take matters into their own hands, tracking down Kishen and his goons and eliminating them.
On his deathbed, Jaiprakash asks Baldev to marry his daughter-in-law, Saroj (Manisha Koirala), and care for Shiv’s children, Ayush (Ali Fazal) and Palak (Chahatt Khanna). In the present day, Ayush works closely with Baldev and is poised to inherit his political legacy. However, Palak has distanced herself from her mother and stepfather, harboring resentment over her mother’s quick remarriage and the birth of another child.
